My Step by Little Dragon

So here is another little bit of electro (Indie Rock) by a band called Little Dragon.

I must admit I do not know their music well, but this is one of my favorite 3am songs.

They played in my home town on the 31st of August, but due to work. I had to miss it.

Also, I love puppets.

Seven Deadly Sins by Flogging Molly

Okay, seriously, Flogging Molly!

This band quickly worked it's way into my top 10 favorite bands.

I can't remember exactly how I got into Flogging Molly, but it was very much a "Hey O'Neil, you're a pirate. Listen to this." sort of thing. And being a pirate anything that sounds a bit like a sea-shanty is a win in my books.

The first music I got was from the album Swagger, and WOW, what a great album. A good mix of anthems and party songs such as Salty Dog, Selfish Man, The Worst Day Since Yesterday, Every Dog Has Its Day, Life in a Tenement Square, Black Friday Rule, Devil's Dance Floor, These Exiled Years and Sentimental Johnny.

Okay, okay. I pretty much listed the entire album, but it really is that great.

For a "Get Up and Start Dancing!" example.

Cherry Lips by Garbage

So I got a huge boner for Shirley Manson... ever seen that VH1 show she did with her nipple sticking out... HOT.

Anyway. Garbage used to be badass but mellowed out in there old age. They are still awesome though.

Do It With a Rockstar by Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra

As a music lover, I love meeting people that are huge fans of bands or artists that I like. because they can usually introduce me to more more.

I recently made a new friend, with whom I shared a little more than just a huge love for Amanda Palmer.

I have been called an enabler by a few people in my life. They have always said it like it was a bad thing. Personally I believe that you only have about 75 year to live your life as you. Before you body is given back to the universe and a piece of useless matter. And your consciousness or "soul" is gone. Forever.

Live life to its fullest. You never know when you draw your last breath.

Shattered Pieces by Otep

I tried to post this via my phone a while ago. But did not work so here it is.

Deep down inside I am just and angsty teenage girl.

And this is how the world died [x2]
I can hear you judging me
I'll hear your confession
I found the best piece of me
Kneel down
Alone
Shivering in the dark
Three centimeters tall
And talk to god
Eating it's heart
But you will not feast on me today
This is how the world died
Who will slay this thing
I forgive you
Who will play the butcher and
End my suffering
I forgive you
I fucked the minds of the masses with the fingers of liberty
This is not a threat
This is not
A threat
I'm not perfect
I'm not a beauty queen I'm just me
I'm just me
We are all
Prisoners here
All shapes and sizes
I've screamed for all the women I've never been but hoped I would be
I'm proud of who I am
Forever
Chasing the sun
I'm proud of me
She bites her trembling mind
It began as all tragedies do
Forgive me [x2]
With pain and deception
If you'll be the paper I'll be the pen
This is it
I've tasted hell
And it tastes just like you

My final plea
No one is coming to save me
No one is going to change things
The answers will not drop from the sky
I will not one day wake with a different disguise
No
The only solution
Is revolution
Art is war
Fight [x2]
The odds were always against me
Lose weight
Clearly think
I exist I am broken [x2]
If god is my father
Then I am an orphan
I am broken
I am not a mistake [x2]
My ancestry is a ghost story
I'm a prophecy
My love life is a crime scene
I'm an omen
My self-esteem is a string of unsolved murders
The radio is brainwashing me filling my head with these
Self conspiracies
I am an emotional nightmare
I can't hide the pain inside
Builder of my own mythology
Just tell me
You're listening

Primafortune unplugged.

So, I'm having internet issues at home and no usable webs at the office.

The bad news is no songs till i figure it out. The good news is i can blog from my phone.
So you get to read what my text messages look like. This will be great, as I am biligual, i spell things phonetically. And i have fat thumbs with a tiny keypad, i and o is the same thing. A and s are inter changable and a space is quiet often a n.

So sit back, roll a smoke, listen to SpaceLounge Radio on Live365. The next few days will be silly.

Love you all.

Gunja Smuggling by Eek-a-Mouse

Eek-a-Mouse is great.

I got turned onto Reggae by my dad. Which may be a little odd, as his favorite band for the last 10 years has been Rammstein.

Anyhoo, the first song that made me take note of Eek-a-Mouse was Christmas A Come, it just had something.

I got a clip of this Gunja Smuggling as my ringtone,  the "Bang bang biddy bong bong..." part. it works really well.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sugur Ros

Sigur Ros is a band I discovered by accident.

At a time, I was very much into bands such as Rage Against the Machine and The Deftones, I was walking around a record store looking for something a little darker. Never really been into heavy, but have always been fond of dark, when I saw this;

A flat black cover with a pale blue drawing of an angle fetus. I knew straight away I needed this in my playlist.

Being a music lover, I know that if you like the cover, give it a listen to. You might actually enjoy the music.
This philosophy could not ever have been more true when it came to "Sugar Ros". It was hauntingly beautiful. Like nothing I have heard before.
I could not afford to buy the album at the time,  but went straight home to listen to anything I could find on My Space.

Within about 2 years they reached some form of international fame, which meant some friends where listening to their music too.

Here is one of their songs. They have many I would like to play for you. But you can find out more about Sigur Ros here.

Handlebars by The Flobots

When I first hear my girlfriend and her little brother singing this song to each other, I though it was some kind of nursery rhyme.

"I can ride my bike with no handle bars, no handlebars, no handlebars."

It was only once listen to it, I realise this song is a lot more than that. The Flobots are great, and Handlebars is awesome.  It had a good beat, picks up with a bit or brass (which I am always a fan of) and some good old edgy guitar.

Deep Diver

Deep Diver - by Randis

Before I Forget by Slipknot

I have never really been into Slipknot. Always enjoyed this song though.

I am a world before I am a man.
I was a creature before I could stand.
I will remember before I forget.
BEFORE I FORGET THAT!

Broken Boy Soldier by The Raconteurs

Yet another one of those anthems.

Jack White has some great stuff out there.

Unitled and imcomplete. When it is a state of being.

The biggest problem i have with emotions is that they do not follow our laws of time. Moments of joy, happiness and all those other good feelings wisp past leaving only memories. The icky feelings, those of anger, melancholy, jealousy and remorse tend to drag out. Entire lifetimes are spent in the dreadful space. The thing is, in these long, hard periods we learn the most about about who we are, what our limits are and how we can overcome the obstacle  that hinder our growth.
